I’ve actually felt this way. I’m in middle school, and for a large majority of the first year I had this male friend. Over time, he ended up having feelings for me. He confessed during the school Valentine’s Day party, a day after the actual Valentine’s Day. I didn’t know what to say to him, I sadly didn’t feel the same way, and the thing is, it’s so hard for me to say “no”, especially to a close friend. So I just said “ok” to him. We weren’t really dating, he never asked me if I wanted to be his girlfriend, so I guess it wasn’t official. This hurt our friendship so much, and it started affecting my other friends as well. I would sit with my friends, then he would come up and start harassing them or start talking to me as if they didn’t exist. Once, one of my friends told us he had a crush on someone, but he didn’t know how to confront her. The guy who confessed to me, went up to the poor dude’s crush and told her. The guy literally hid under the lunchroom table, in embarrassment. I felt so bad. And practically everyone else confronted him saying “how would you like it if someone did that to your crush?” And he straight up said “oh, my crush already knows” and looked at me. I was red with embarrassment. He didn’t have to do that, but he did. And it made me feel so uncomfortable being put out in the spotlight like that. The last straw I would say, was when one of my friends came out as bisexual. I support her, I don’t care what others say. But he pulled the last straw before I can refill the container. There was a rumor, saying my bisexual friend was flirting with me. So, he asked her when I wasn’t there, “Are you flirting with my girlfriend?” Now, she is very sensitive. He didn’t even wait to ask me about it, and he said “girlfriend”. He didn’t even ask if I wanted to be his girlfriend, so he can’t really just say that. And when he asked her this question, she broke down crying. Long story short, a fellow friend (I have quite a lot, I would say, but they don’t want to be named without permission. You’re sadly going to have to deal with it) came to her rescue and countered saying “and what if she was? What would you do?!” (She wasn’t flirting with me btw) but he didn’t respond. So he clearly didn’t care. I told him later on, we couldn’t keep it going. He agreed with no problem. But he kept arguing with my friends. So I told him, “we can’t speak to each other anymore. We are done, there’s nothing you can do. So leave them alone. You can harass me, but don’t hurt them. So LEAVE.” He was clearly not worth it. He didn’t care that I said we couldn’t keep this up, and he didn’t argue when I said we can’t be friends anymore. He isn’t worth it. I know this is a lot to read, if you took the time to read this. But here’s a tip: if your friend tells you they like you, but you don’t like them back, don’t hesitate to friendzone them. You just have to make sure, that if you want to keep your friendship with them, make sure they understand. But don’t be mean to them. Because after what I said to him, he’s been harassing me. I don’t think he does it anymore though. He called me an a**hole and an uncultured swine, but I don’t care. I just want to know if my friends are ok. And also, don’t be in a relation ship as young as middle school, or even elementary. It’s not good. Ask your parents when they think it’s ok, and maybe have them meet each other. Let your parents decide, because when it comes to romance, you shouldn’t suffer like that, so ask your parents for help.

Having a relationship, should be "God centered." God will provide you with the person. All you have to do is let HIM be the one to guide you through the Holy spirit.
