Dr. Berg talks about the Blood Type Diet (Eat Right for your Blood Type) versus the Body Type Diet.
The problem is there is very weak science if any. Try to track down their research, it leads no where. There is four blood types (Type A, B, AB and O). On the surface, it appears to look like there is some technology to it, but there is not.
If we look at the science behind the body type, we are looking at endocrinology and how hormone distort your shape.
Higher levels of cortisol can cause a condition called Cushing’s Syndrome, where the person has a sagging belly. If your liver is damaged, you could get a condition called ascities, which is fluid in a sac that surrounds your midsection. Estrogen dominance tends to put fat around the hips and thighs. If your thyroid is slow, you can gain weight all over.

The Liver Body Type
The Ovary Body Type
The Thyroid Body Type

If your cortisol is high, or your estrogen was high or if your thyroid was low – the question is, what food would you consume to reverse this? In my second book, I upgraded the data to include a missing element, the basic eating plan to deal with high insulin, which then sets the stage in 2 weeks to tweak things to your body type.
I then used the definition of the word FOOD to use as a starting point because we eat food for both fuel and nutrients.
There are two types of fuel, glucose and ketones. Our body as a baby (if you were breast fed) started out on ketosis as the first fuel. And the purpose of fat is to provide energy storage to live on between meals. Well, then why not use your ketones are you primary fuel. Now if we then add intermittent fasting and keto we are then mimicking what our body’s were meant to run on. Then if we make sure that we are getting all the basic nutrient requirements, then we are really following the basic definition of the word food. I call this HEALTHY KETOSIS.
Then after two weeks, we tweak your basic plan with your body types.

I PCOS i that really influence my weight… I also have low estrogen so i dont really gain weight on waist or thies which I would love to. My weight is all belly and arms.

I'm out here wondering how the Director of the Center of Excellence in Generative Medicine, distinguished Professor of clinical sciences, award-winning physician and New York Times bestseller has no science behind his work. Hmmm… I'm one of the countless people whose life the blood type diet saved after all that other diet fads failed me including the keto diet. WAKE UP! The blood type diet has been healing people since the 1970s. And why would anyone promote their book by making such baseless claims about another author's work?

I don't disagree with your points and there were parts of these books that I do not agree with. HOWEVER, I when I had my daycare I could tell the toddlers blood type by what they eat first and most of from their plate with all food groups represented. Of course, this only worked before they were introduced to processed foods standard in the American diet.

Iv no gallbladder removed 15 years ago,iv now developed a hernia,iv also been told that I have hyperthyroidism,am blood group o,and I'm currently taking,vitamin's D3 K2 and vitamin b12 with magnesium citrate,can you give me rough idea of what I should and shouldn't be eating?

The blood type diet is the result of 60 years of research by both Peter D' Adamo and his Father based primarily on the way the blood is affected by different foods." One man's food is another man's poison" is very true. That is why there are different blood types and why there are so many diets. Dr Berg I love your work but please don't discredit The blood type diet.

This video is like an epiphany for me! The prevalence of baby formula means many people (at least in the USA where I am) start insulin resistance as a baby! Breastfeeding only worked for me with one baby and that baby is now a 7 yrs old nuclear powered tornado! Siblings were not breast fed and I can see a difference in the body types and cravings! Phenomenal knowledge that every hospital and pediatrician should be using to convince mothers to breastfeed. I did try with each

Actually the blood type diet help me drop 28 pounds. I'm O positive and once I dropped white flour and alot of cheese. I have gotten many compliments that I look 40 and not 54?
